Facility Maintenance Specialist - Milwaukee Campus

The Wisconsin Humane Society – Milwaukee Campus is looking for a professional, goal and detail-oriented team player to join our team as a full-time Facility Maintenance Specialist. This position will be based at our Milwaukee Campus and may travel to other WHS locations as needed. Facility Maintenance Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Repairs to animal enclosures, displays, and general facility materials as needed

-Preventative care to heating and cooling systems

-Floor care, including use of auto scrubbers and burnishers

-Basic electrical and plumbing repairs

-Maintaining proper inventory for cleaning supplies and equipment

-Patching and painting drywall

-Grounds upkeep to include grass cutting, trimming, weeding, and snow and ice removal

-Set up and take down for WHS programs and events

-Working with contractors and vendors for building maintenance repairs and ordering supplies

Qualifications

This is primarily a first shift position that may include occasional weekend hours and requires on call availability. Other qualifications include:

-Previous maintenance experience required; experience in a high traffic, commercial facility preferred

-Must be able to safely and independently lift and carry 50 pounds

-Must be able to successfully meet the physical demands of the job, which include stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, ladder work, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and heavy work

-Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, flexibility and the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment required

-A valid and current driver's license is required, as this position does typically travel between our locations
