Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Grading Crew Operator to support and oversee grading operations. This position involves working closely with the crew to prepare sites for asphalt paving and ensuring work meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
Support the grading crew in daily operations.
Operate and manage heavy equipment, including skid loaders, graders, and compactors, to prepare sites for asphalt paving.
Review blueprints and use transit or laser levels to verify grades and layout site stakes.
Coordinate material deliveries and subcontractors to maintain smooth workflow.
Drive company vehicles to and from job sites and oversee proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Communicate professionally with customers during all phases of the project.
Ensure that safety protocols are followed by all crew members.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in grading, paving, or related construction work preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and use transit/laser levels accurately.
Strong leadership and communication skills to guide and collaborate with the crew.
Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within the first year of employment.
