Orley Shabahang, a boutique retailer specializing in fine Persian carpets, is seeking a part-time, in-person bookkeeper/accountant to support our financial operations. This is an immediate opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and familiar with small business accounting. The role requires approximately 15–20 hours per month and is based at our Whitefish Bay location.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly sales tax filings
Record journal entries and maintain general ledger
Process and record payroll
Track rug purchases and inventory
Invoice customers and post payments
Manage intercompany transactions
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and inventory records
Prepare monthly financial reports for ownership
Assist outside accountants with year-end tax prep, including 1099s and trial balances
Requirements:
Proficiency in QuickBooks (required)
Solid Excel skills
Familiarity with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
