Purpose and Description:

Position is responsible for managing all field operations within the assigned divisions. Coordinates the procurement and scheduled use of resources, including labor, equipment and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within the budget, safety guidelines and quality standards.

Promotes the growth and development of field staff and assists them in carrying out their responsibilities as needed. Coordinates use of resources within other divisions and lends support to operational activities for the entire company.

Excellent communication is a must and a priority when carrying out any job duties and work.

Responsibilities and Activities:

Manage project budgets; know where each project is at all times. Immediately report to Owner any jobs deviating from budgets of time, schedule, cost or any other factor so appropriate adjustments can be made to maximize the end result.

Manages and schedules labor, equipment and material to accomplish production schedules within established budgets. Maintain strict adherence to established schedules and budgets.

Understand contract specifications and ensures they are met and maintain customers complete satisfaction.

Provide most recent plans/documents to field staff at the beginning of the day and provide instruction to ensure crew leaders and crews are prepared to complete the job.

Ensure all work is completed in adherence to safety policies and guidelines. Conducts safety inspections on job-sites.

Investigate any accident or safety violation, prepares appropriate reports, take action steps to correct and prevent future occurrences. Defines and implements solutions to reoccurring accidents and most common hazards.

Supervise employees, enforcing proper uniform and safety equipment use, and approving time.

Coordinate the use of labor, equipment and materials with Management as needed.

Visit job sites on a regular basis, observing organization of work, identifying and resolving training issues and taking necessary actions to ensure quality.

Respond to customer complaints ensuring proper handling to achieve excellent customer satisfaction and service.

Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets in the field, vehicles, shop, office and customer work sites.

Management of all field staff. Includes recommendations for firing and hiring. Also includes training, coaching, mentoring and developing staff to reach potential and established goals for the individual and company.

Suggested Qualifications & Educational Requirements:

5 + years’ experience

Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

Commercial Driver’s License (preferred) and CLEAN driving record

Proficient heavy equipment operating skills including wheel loaders, skid loaders, bucket truck, dump trucks, with various attachments; other construction equipment as needed.

Extensive knowledge of and experience in one or more areas of our service offerings

Knowledge of perennials, shrubs, evergreens and trees; identification and cultural requirements

Highly motivated, self-driven individual who is very detail orientated

Excellent attention to detail while working in a fast paced environment

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Good time management skills, availability for long hours year round

Ability to prioritize and multi task

Able to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background (i.e. clients, contractors, vendors, employees)

Punctual and dependable

Clean and professional appearance

Extraordinary Work Conditions:

Must maintain regular and reliable attendance at a level acceptable to the company, including ability to work overtime, holidays, evenings or weekends as necessary.

Must be able to spend a significant amount of time outdoors on job sites.

Position may require working long hours which may include evenings and/or weekends. Note: our company works (4) 10-hour days (Monday thru Thursday). Fridays are makeup for bad weather.

Experience:

Operations; 3 years (Preferred)

Management; 5 years (Preferred)

Landscaping; 5 years (Preferred)

Sales experience a plus

Landscape design, build experience and/or extensive tree pruning/removal experience a plus

Mechanically inclined is a plus

Salary: Based on experience. $60,000 to $85,000
