Hello and thank you for your interest. Designer’s Workroom is closing in on 70 years of producing the finest window treatments in the Midwest. Our treatments hang in some of the finest homes in the country. We are currently looking for sewers/seamstresses to construct draperies, soft window treatments (valances, Roman shades etc) and some bedding/pillows. Experience is prefered but we will train the right applicant with basic sewing skills. The ideal candidate would have workroom experience and a strong desire to pursue excellence. Candidates should be familiar with pattern matching, have basic fabric knowledge and be proficient in reading and writing English. Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure and work in fractions of an inch is essential. Wages depend on experience and ability. We do use industrial machines so any experience on industrial machines would be a plus. This position could lead to a managment position if desired. Multilingual applicants encouraged to apply.
