Shift = All Shifts Available!

Pay = $17-19/hour (plus $520 weekly per diem - 2 forms of validation required)

Duration = 3 months+ (Temp to hire)

As a Welder, your expertise in Flux Core Arc Welding will be put to the test as you perform qualified welds with precision and efficiency on large fleet maritime vessels. Previous shipyard/welding experience is a plus as all candidates will need to successfully complete required welding tests to meet our stringent quality standards.

Additional welding responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.

- Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals.

- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.

- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.

- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using flux-cored arc.

- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.

What Do We Want to Know About You? We're looking for candidates who possess:

- High school degree or equivalent.

- 3-5+ years of experience in a custom build shop preferred.

- Ability to read and understand blueprints along with 3D prints/schematic

- Physically able to lift 50 pounds – inclusive of walking/climbing stairs

- Comfortable working in smaller/enclosed spaces within the ship
