Fabrication Lead (CNC Programmer)

Job OverviewThis position is responsible for leading machining operations while also programming CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.Responsibilities:

Leadership :

Supervise and coordinate the activities of machining personnel.

Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.

Train new team members on machining techniques & safety protocols

CNC Programming :

Develop CNC programs using AutoCAD, WoodWOP and RouterCIM based on engineering drawings and specifications.

Optimize programs for efficiency, accuracy, and tool life.

Troubleshoot and debug programs to ensure smooth machine operation.

Setup and Operation :

Set up CNC machines including tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.

Operate CNC machines to produce parts with tight tolerances.

Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and productivity.

Quality Control :

Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.

Implement corrective actions to address deviations from quality standards.

Document inspection results and maintain quality records.

Maintenance and Safety :

Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines to keep them in optimal condition.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety in the machining area.

Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.

Continuous Improvement :

Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process enhancements.

Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Proven experience in CNC machining and programming, preferably in a leadership role.

Proficiency using AutoCAD, WoodWOP and RouterCIM

Strong technical skills in machining processes, tooling, and materials.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment.

Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
