Warehouse Specialist

The Warehouse Specialist leads the facility/warehouse activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization for storing and distributing finished goods inventories to our Route sales team. Plans and schedules operational functions to ensure inventory is secure and accurate for distribution to our routes and customers. Works with local sales team to support the coffee/tea/allied/equipment business.Responsibilities

Oversee day to day facility activities, general upkeep, maintenance, conduct and document regular facilities inspections.

Maintain planned preventative maintenance programs for office and facility equipment and systems. Investigate facility and equipment failures.

Oversee Branch operations, including security, maintenance, lighting, fire safety, etc.

Participate in planning facility budgets and schedules. Responsible for AOP budget.

Oversee services such as cleaning, waste disposal, utilities, maintenance, parking, etc.

Oversee budgets and keep records of payments with contractors and suppliers. Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives, oversee environmental health and safety

Provide prompt response to requests and issues from other facility occupants.

Ensure the accuracy of the flow of inventory; through process and procedure verification, system review audits and transaction documentation, improves security and tracking of inventory.

Design and implement methods to further automate processes to realize efficiencies and reduce error.

Responsible for finding replacement items caused by distribution center shortages as well as reporting them through our IR Transactions procedure.

Correct overage and shortage errors from the distribution center or outside vendor, accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsible for replenishments shipped from DC’s/vendors that before receiving items into inventory are accurate/clean and free from any damage. Report issues in a timely manner to the proper department e.g. Traffic/DC/Purchasing/etc.

Analyze and investigate system transactions as well as inventory data entry to ensure (JDE) accuracy.

Perform full Warehouse inventory counts as well as weekly cycle counts in the warehouse.

Manage the slow/overstock and non-moving inventory through generated reports to limit any potential loss and report to the DC’s of inventory changes. Contact appropriate supply chain team members for disposition of items.

Safely and efficiently pick sales orders for both local route and branch/DC loads with the assistance of standup/sit down/walkies/pallet jacks.

Receive in and put away replenishment truck orders from DC/vendors as well as pick and load returns.

Stack products properly to allow for both pallet content verification and prevent damage to the load.

Ensure safety rules and regulations are being followed, assist in short-term resolution of emergency situations (e.g. Injures).

Ensure SQF policies are maintained/in compliance and followed for the entire facility. Maintain organization/cleanliness of inventory throughout the entire property.

Document and Provide Monthly Safety Training in line with operations goals (KPI).

May perform other duties in support of the branch/warehouse as needed.

QualificationsEducation and Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

2+ years of warehouse experience.

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.

Knowledge of accepted quality control procedures and guidelines.

Expertise in the areas of employee relations skills and team development within a union environment.

Experience in environmental and industrial processed, electrical and mechanical problem solving.

Familiarity with data entry and flexibility to perform various operational and sales tasks.

Ability to lift a maximum of 60 lbs.
