Reporting to the Director of Quality, the Regulatory Manager role is responsible for the management of regulatory compliance programs (including Labeling, Claims, Raw material/Supplier, External Manufacturing, Warehouse) at HARIBO’s brand new state-of-the-art gummi manufacturing plant in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The Regulatory Manager is critical for timely resolution and execution of program/project work in support of the company and customer product pipeline. Why work at HARIBO? Maintains functional expertise in Nutrition and Health requirements for proper label declaration.

Maintains up to date knowledge of government regulatory and legislative activities established by federal and state agencies in food labeling and compliance.

Approves, as needed, ingredient statement and nutritional information for all labels to comply with federal, state, customer and company food labeling regulations and requirements.

Updates company Policy to reflect pending legislation in a proactive and business minded approach.

Supports and provides expertise to new product development team activities; manages close communication with team members from Product Development, Marketing, Quality, Procurement, Creative, Legal, and Customer Service.

Responds to nutrition, regulatory, and labeling questions from customers and consumers.

Provides guidance to customers and consumers on labeling claims and requirements including allergen statements.

Manages Compliance with Raw material/Supplier, External Manufacturing, Import, and Warehouse.

Including Onboarding, Documentation Management, Scorecarding, Etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science/Human Nutrition, or other science related field required.

Minimum of 5years’ experience in Quality Assurance or related field in Confectionary or Food Industry required.Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Minimum of 3 years' experience ofregulatory experience with direct involvement with government agencies, FDA, USDA, etc.

Food Safety Certification such as PCQI, HACCP, GFSI.

Knowledge of environmental and quality regulations on the Federal, State, and Local levels.

Proven understanding of FDA food regulations, including FSMA and labeling regulations.

Ability to address complex issues in an effective and efficient manner, and with complete discretion; ability to be entrusted with sensitive and confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications:

Result-driven with excellent judgment, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Strong Proficiency in MS Programs specifically Excel.

Ability to communicate effectively to various levels of the organization.

Ability to lead, develop, coach and hold others accountable to HARIBO’s high standards.

Ability to train others and coach to compliance.
