Ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas.Responsibilities
Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Required:
Effective communication skills
Basic computer skills to complete online trainings, using online management tools, and checking and responding to email
Demonstrated good judgement and decision making skills
Ability to organize work tasks in a logical and effective manner
Basic knowledge of safety protocols related to facilities and cleaning practices
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to perform manual labor including lifting 50 pounds
Successful completion of a post-offer employment test
Ability to respond to issues in the residence halls that will require occasional call-ins after regular working hours
Preferred:
Custodial work experience in a business or commercial setting, including experience using a floor buffer, maintaining floors, and cleaning windows
Experience working independently
Experience working in a team environment
