100Typical Working Schedule7:45 am-4:30 pm, M-FPosition Summary This project position provides administrative human resources support for the university’s Office of Human Resources. Performs human resources activities in the areas of recruitment, classification, payroll and benefits. This includes coordination of projects; maintaining human resource records and databases; and providing general administrative support. Position maintains employee records per policy for records retention and prepares for electronic filing project; documents and maps workflow; develops presentations for delivery; recommends changes and updates the Department’s website; provides onboarding and payroll support; and other related duties as assigned. This position requires the use of discretion and judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.Responsibilities75% A. Project Coordination and Completion

A1. Responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of various UW-River Falls and UW System initiatives and assigned projects.

A2. Serves as the primary contact for all aspects of the assigned project.

A3. Organize and perform action items and task student employees when needed.

A4. Use available resources to research needed information and obtain data from subject matter experts.

A5. Communicate with internal stakeholders with recommended plan, solutions and updates on project progress.25% B. General Support Activities

B1. Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate parties. Greet visitors, determine whether they should be given access to specific individuals, and schedule appointments, as needed.

B2. Recommend changes and update the Department’s website.

B2. Support recruitment, new employee onboarding, and payroll processing.

B3. Document Human Resources processes, map workflows and recommend updates to policy/procedures.

B4. Develop presentations and draft communication on various topics as needed.

B5. Complete other related duties as required.Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and personnel information systems.

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment and meeting quality standards.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing as appropriate so that others will understand.

Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources.

Professional in Human Resources or SHRM certification.

Experience in higher education and/or public service.
