Job Description SummaryThe Patent Specialist provides support to the Intellectual Property (IP) function in one of a number of areas: Internal idea generation and documentation management. Inputting, processing, and updating data in GE HealthCare's IP management tool (Anaqua). Processing inventor remuneration. Processing outside counsel invoices. Receiving, processing, and managing invention disclosures from research partners. Internal and external communications with GE HealthCare IP team members, inventors and outside counsels. Formalities - technical and process management, to ensure invention disclosure submission, rating and processing of invention disclosures and providing instructions to patent counsel for drafting and filing patent applications, patent prosecution management, and patent granting and annuity fee management. To devise, document and maintain appropriate administration routines and records for GE HealthCare IP.

To work with the IP management team to increase efficiency, lower costs and minimize risk for all IP formality activities (using LEAN tools when appropriate).

Provide reports and statistics when required.

Educate IP and business colleagues in particular areas of IP and operations as needed.

Maintain global calendar for GE HealthCare global IP team and provide minor group administrative support when needed.

Monitor internal compliance within GE HealthCare with respect to GE HealthCare IP policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

Ability to document, plan and execute short term projects.

Must be detail oriented, organized, and adaptable for this dynamic role.

Exhibit qualities that illustrate a dedication to quality, continuous improvement, and complete customer satisfaction.

Desired Characteristics:

Minimum 3 years' experience with the patent process and/or working in an IP related field.

Experience with IP management tools, such as Anaqua.

Prioritizing work, especially when dealing with urgent and confidential matters.

Flexible and innovative approach to problem solving.

Cope well in a pressurized environment.
