The Big Horn County Circuit Court, located in Basin, Wyoming, seeks to hire a Clerk to assist with the preparation and processing of court cases. The Court is seeking professional candidates possessing a combination of strong communication, planning, organizational, scheduling, clerical, and data entry skills. Weekly travel to Lovell, Wyoming is required.
The Big Horn County Circuit Court presides over misdemeanor, small claims, civil, forcible entry, and detainer cases as well as issues protection orders. The Court is in Basin, Wyoming which also staffs a satellite office in Lovell, Wyoming. The communities in Big Horn County exemplify the Old West traditions of hard work, self-sufficiency, and mutual support. Their farms are second to none in sugar beet, grain, bean, and hay production. Many sights of historical and natural interest are easily accessed and enjoyed on a tour through Big Horn County. Outdoor recreationists find a wealth of wild game, fish, and outdoor scenery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: This position involves a variety of complex work duties for the purpose of managing all aspects of the Circuit Court. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief Clerk. Strict confidentiality is required. Essential functions of this position include the following:
Preference will be given to applicants who meet the requirements plus any of these preferred qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
High school diploma or equivalent
1 year of progressive clerical work experience
Necessary Special Requirements
This position requires mobility to work in a typical office setting. Applicant must have the ability to:
Use standard office equipment;
Stand and/or walk for a period of time;
Read printed materials and computer screens;
Communicate in person or over the phone;
Ability to attend work regularly, including arriving at work on time;
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required; and
Frequent travel within 50 miles.
