Responsibilities:

As a Real Estate Loan Processer, you are a critical team member within the bank. You provide exceptional customer service working with our most important assets, our customers and other team members. An important role of a Real Estate Loan Processer is following proper procedures to minimize errors and reduce the risk of fraud. Being a strong team player, taking pride in performing well, and enjoying helping others is an essential. The Real Estate Loan Processer supports the Mortgage Loan Officer in preparation of accurate and complete mortgage packages.

  • Copy documents and prepare loan packages for shipping to investors and agencies daily

  • Collect required documentation from borrowers and follow up on missing items, assure that all customer files are complete, accurate and in compliance with regulatory agencies and internal policies

  • Ensure customer privacy, security of files and appropriate staff access

  • Provide customers with timely and periodic status updates of their loan application

  • Input data from verifications, title insurance, appraisals, and credit reports

  • Review file for underwriting and deliver file to underwriting in a timely manner as to meet the closing date

  • Ensure all Fed Ex packets are complete, and mail is delivered to pick up area

  • Follow up with investors, agencies, and title companies to correct items necessary for funding

  • Copies, files, and ships all required follow up on closed loans to investors

  • Answer incoming telephone calls, greet walk in customers and set up appointments for lenders

  • Inventory department supplies and put in requisitions as needed

  • Opens, files, and distributes incoming mail

  • Set goals that support the overall bank goals and evaluate progress towards those goals

  • Actively promote bank products and services to existing and prospective customers

  • Communicate in a positive and proactive fashion that builds team comradery and supports the bank’s core values

  • Take personal initiative and are a positive example for others to emulate

  • Maintains confidentiality and acts with integrity

  • Support regulatory compliance, adhere to bank policy and financial regulations, and protect our clients and the bank from excess risk by following practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for customers and fellow team members

  • Occasional overtime may be necessary

  • Pursue opportunities to make a difference in people’s lives through community involvement, strongly encouraged to utilize bank paid volunteer time and spend a minimum of 16 hours volunteering in the community each year

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Employee engagement: All team members of FNB are actively involved in training and development programs to increase overall knowledge of banking. Work with all departments to build team cohesion, and cross train to assist clients and support career development.

  • Process Improvements: FNB team members are expected to be constantly looking for ways to improve our customer experience and our organization. This can be achieved by asking questions about current processes and procedures and recommending improvements to the process. It is the goal of every FNB team member to assist in increasing productivity and efficiency, while maintaining focus on risk mitigation.

Skills/Experience/Education:

  • Ability to utilize computer software efficiently

  • Basic understanding of real estate loan documentation

  • Ability to work under pressure with a high level of detail

  • Analytical and research skills

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Trustworthiness and ability to act with integrity

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. for 20 ft.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting up to 9 hours daily

  • Prolonged periods of working on a computer

Equipment Used:

  • Office equipment, scanners, computers with software and phones

Compliance:

  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations relating to the activities of the department

  • Must follow the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) regulations that pertain to the position

  • Be able to detect BSA issues and report such issues to your Manager

  • Complete all assigned ongoing BSA training to recognize red flags and comply with policies relative to CIP, CTRs and SARs
