Job Summary:

We are seeking full time general technician/mechanic. This position focuses heavily on shocks, struts, front end parts, alignments, and digital inspections. Experience in the tire and automotive industry is required especially in the field of tire alignments and general automotive repair and maintenance. However, candidates with experience in all mechanic areas save alignment will be considered if they possess the proper work ethic and willingness to be trained.

Job Duties:

A general technician/mechanic at Plains Tire performs the following duties, including but not limited to:

• Perform wheel alignments and various related adjustments on vehicles to insure a proper alignment per company specifications
• Perform front end work, in regards to brakes, shocks and worn suspension parts. Pack wheel bearings.
• Provide estimates and scheduling services
• Identify and order necessary parts for particular service.
• Do test drives before and after service
• Properly drive and secure vehicle on lift to ensure safe operations.
• Properly dismount and remount tires and wheels securely on vehicle and without damaging either.
• Re-secure all related parts once alignment is finished.
• Operated all related equipment and tools as trained.
• Maintain and keep clean alignment lift and computer.
• Performs maintenance on tires, including rotations, balancing, and repair
• Participates in training, follows safety procedures, job duties and company policies.
• Conducts basic maintenance and cleaning of showroom, service bays, equipment, storage areas, restrooms, breakroom, lobby, counter areas and outside grounds.
• Provides helpful, friendly and responsive customer service
• Attends meetings and has the ability to communicate, if necessary, with all levels of Plains Tire employees

Qualifications:

Skills and Requirements for general technician/mechanic at Plains Tire

• Must have at least one year of tire and automotive experience
• Must possess a mechanical aptitude
• Must operate independently and as a team member.
• Must perform and demonstrate Customer Service Satisfaction.
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Must have own tools.
• Must excel in a team environment
• Must have an upbeat and positive outlook
• Must be able to function well in a physically demanding environment
• Must be dedicated and reliable
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass drug test

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
