DESCRIPTION

The Production Planner schedules, plans, forecasts, and coordinates the flow of products through the complete production cycle to ensure optimal levels. Responsible for accurate and timely scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor in order to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates. Monitor and evaluate material supply flow and identify shortages or bottlenecks that may arise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate production workflow for multiple products
  • Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements
  • Support purchasing

    • Expedite suppliers purchase orders if necessary
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
  • Utilize ERP to generate manufacturing work orders
  • Release manufacturing work orders to the warehouse for picking
  • Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages
  • Notify sales of any schedule impacts to customers
  • Determine equipment, manpower, and raw materials needed to cover production demand
  • Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget
  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimal disruption
  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports related to production progress, customer information, and materials inventory
  • Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Collaborate with supply chain, quality control, production and other staff
  • Address issues regarding quality and production
  • Work with warehousing and production staff to identify and resolved problems relating to inventory
  • Manage deadlines based on project expectations
  • Forecast market challenges based on competitor analysis and industry trends

QUALIFICATIONS
:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related industry
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Good understanding of the industry market trends and conditions
  • Understanding of firearm functionality and components is a plus Competencies
  • Communication Proficiency

    • English language written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and barcode labels
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Technical Capacity

    • Ability to apply concepts of mathematics and statistics
    • Ability to use and read measuring instruments
  • Learning Orientation

    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Ensure that assigned orders are finished according to schedule and within budget
  • Confer with engineering, warehousing, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information
  • Meet objective goals assigned by performance coaching

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee is not exposed to weather conditions due to our large indoor facility. While performing the duties of this job, this position will be exposed to the manufacturing/factory environment and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in this work environment can be loud.
