Verdello is a family-run retail business in the heart of historic Downtown Sheridan, Wyoming. We opened our doors in June 2017 and since that time have been committed to bringing unique food experiences to our community. Our shelves are lined with world flavors and gourmet food items. We believe food is a universal language and tastes provide you with journeys through cultures and history.

We offer oils, vinegars and wines on tap. As well as unique selections of meats, cheeses, pastas, wines and many more items from around the world. We host weekly cooking classes and make custom charcuterie boards as well!

Job description

This is a part time position with varied responsibilities. The week would consist of 1-2 days as a Specialty Food & Wine Retail Sales Associate in our store and 1-3 day as a Kitchen Assistant helping in the late afternoon & evening with our cooking classes.

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices

• Solid communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to read, write and effectively communicate with customers, peers and management

• Telephone etiquette

• Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business

• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision

• Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching and climbing ladders

• Enthusiastic, friendly and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service

• Surprises and delights customers with consistent and delicious food
• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well-stocked
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
• Prepare food items: Cut, wrap, pour and price food and other products
• Assist customers in selecting oil, vinegar, cheese, meats, wines and other specialty products
• Willingness to taste and evaluate all products offered
• Knowledge of gourmet foods (olive oil, cheeses, artisan meats, wine imported foods) preferred
• Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends

• High school diploma or equivalent

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Includes paid food and wine training and certifications
