GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician in Sundance, Wyoming, to perform various maintenance duties under limited supervision to provide a safe, high-quality, and efficient transportation system. This position offers:
Sundance, Wyoming - where 'the kid' got his name. The Black Hills and Bear Lodge Mountains offer outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, skiing, snowmobiling, golf, rodeos, and hiking. Sundance is a quiet town that comes alive with Summer traffic to Devil's Tower and the Sturgis Bike Rally. Rapid City, South Dakota, is about an hour away if you're looking for more to do. Qualifications
PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Preference may be given to applicants who have a current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements prior to employment.
Must have the ability to obtain water certifications if necessary.
Must have the ability to obtain a Certification to operate specified equipment as directed by WYDOT.
Must have the ability to obtain a Certificate of course completion of Defensive Driving.
Must have the ability to obtain a First Aid/CPR certification.
Must have the ability to obtain a Flagger certification.
KNOWLEDGE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Highway Maintenance/Highway Construction) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Highway Maintenance Assistant
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License
OR
Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Engineering)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Highway Maintenance/Highway Construction) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Highway Maintenance Assistant
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License
