Description:
Big Sky-Montana Civil JV has Formwork Carpenter position openings to take up formwork construction tasks and support operations for a 2-year dam project at Leavitt Reservoir, East of Greybull, WY.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Performing all task with Commitment to SAFETY! Wearing PPE at all times (hardhat, Vest, eye protection, hearing protection, etc.)
Putting tools and small equipment away at the end of shift.
Organizing crew truck and job trailers weekly.
Collecting trash, debris, and other construction waste daily to keep the site clean and safe.
Constructing concrete forms using a variety of forming systems (wood frame, steel gang forms, wood gang forms)
Familiarity with various heavy civil concrete systems (waterstop, rebar templates, joint sealant)
Carpenters will aide in the placement of concrete.
Carpenters will need to be familiar and comfortable working at height (100’ tall tower structrue), and be experienced with fall protection safety requirements.
Handling & transporting materials, shoveling, raking, pumping, digging, stacking, organizing etc.
Handing & operating power tools (saws, drills, concrete tools, etc.)
Exercise good judgement regarding safety & pre-cautions.
Work independently and in crew environment depending on the task.
Qualifications:
Must have 3 years experience of previous heavy-civil formwork carpenter employment.
18 years of age.
Available to work extended long hours, nights and weekends when weather demands schedule
Able to pass Pre-employment Physical and Drug/Alcohol Testing, including marijuana.
Must be able to follow instructions and meet set standards.
Concrete form carpenters utilize various hand and power tools and must also maintain hand-eye coordination to avoid injury to self or damage to materials. So it is important that they have manual dexterity, stamina, and strength to lift heavy materials as necessary. They should be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds without assistance
Must be able to read & write to fill out Daily Time Cards.
Valid Driver’s License.
Must provide 3 pertinent references from previous employers.
MUST HAVE GOOD ATTITUDE.
Pay:
Formwork Carpenters will be paid $25/hour.
Per Diem - $157/day (non-taxed)
Bonus bank retention at $5.00/hour straight time and must work safely, be on-time, and stay through duration of entire project. Paid at the end of each season.
Example – 50-hour work week (hours vary due to weather, etc.)
- 40 hours at $25/hour = $1,000 (taxed)
- Overtime 10 hours at $37.50/hour =$375 (taxed)
- Retention Bonus 50 hours at $5/hour = $250 (taxed)
- Per Diem. $157/day x 5 days = $785 (tax exempt)
o Total estimated weekly pay, before taxes = $2,410.00
- Project will begin in March and needs to be completed by the end of 2025.
