The main purpose and function of the Mobile Mechanic is to maintain and repair mobile equipment.
- Specific responsibilities may include:
- Troubleshoot and repair mobile equipment.
- Perform scheduled maintenance.
- Assist mill maintenance as needed.
- Ensure accurate diagnosis of mechanical problems.
- Maintain operating availability of equipment.
- Provide cost effective solutions to mechanical problems.
- Work under general supervision and make decisions under set guidelines and strict safety rules.
- Make recommendations to Maintenance Supervisor.
- Responsible for parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Responsible for reporting safety, quality, environmental, and equipment concerns to supervisor.
- Make purchases (no cash) under authority of Maintenance Supervisor.
- Interact with mobile equipment operators, supervisors, plant personnel, and mine personnel.
- Ensure appropriate consideration is given to safety and environmental concerns.
- Achieve specific goals established during the annual performance evaluation.
- Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to conform to API Specification Q1, 9th
- Edition requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives.
