Summary This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Community Programs (N922) Branch; Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services (N94); Commander, Navy Region Hawaii, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH), Honolulu, HI. The purpose of this position is to complete simple, routine orders and assist higher graded framers with more complex orders at the Hickam Arts & Crafts Center. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: 1. Assist in completing picture frame orders. Under the guidance of experienced picture framers, select materials, cuts stock and assembles frames, cuts glass, mat boards and completes the frame package. 2. Answers routine questions from customers and may make suggestions. Takes customer frame order, performs cash handling duties, completes opening and close out procedures and necessary housekeeping duties in the facility. 3. Assists customers in techniques including the use and safe practice of shop equipment. Issues tools used by self-help customers. 4. Performs other duties as assigned. CONTROLS OVER WORK: Receives guidance and technical instructions from experienced picture framers in the form of equipment training, work orders, and oral instructions. Routine work assignments may be performed independently. Incumbent follows established safety procedures and practices when using hand and power equipment. Work is spot checked in progress and upon completion for compliance with instructions.
