The person who fills this position will perform legal assistant duties necessary to assist in meeting work demand, schedules, and deadlines of the County Attorney\'s Office. These duties include, but are not limited to, answering the telephone, preparation of legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence, copying, faxing, email, and electronic calendaring, and maintaining legal files. This position exists to provide the required legal assistant support to the County Attorney\'s Office. Essential Duties: 1. Make copies, send faxes, handle mailings, open, maintain, organize, and close files. 2. Answer telephones, direct calls, and respond to callers\' inquiries if possible and as appropriate, and greet and route members of the public and county staff. 3. Prepare legal pleadings, such as complaints, motions, notices, subpoenas, warrants, etc., and correspondence, using computer word processing software. Organize and copy discovery production. 4. Arrange and follow-up on filing of pleadings with the court, and service of documents. 5. Manage calendar for hearings and deadlines, as well as organize and coordinate witness and law enforcement appearances. 6. Other duties as necessary or assigned. Wage is dependant on experience.
