Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling: Load and unload raw materials like refractory bricks, mortar, and insulation onto conveyors, trucks, and work platforms.
Work Area Preparation: Clean and prepare work areas, including removing debris and ensuring proper access for installation.
Mixing Mortar: Mix and prepare refractory mortar according to specifications, ensuring proper consistency.
Brick Handling: Assist skilled refractory workers by passing bricks, aligning them, and applying mortar for installation.
Cutting and Shaping: Use hand tools to cut and shape refractory bricks as needed.
Grouting and Sealing: Apply grout and sealing compounds to joints and seams of installed refractory materials.
Clean-up and Maintenance: Maintain a clean work area by sweeping, removing debris, and cleaning tools and equipment.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting hazards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Physical Strength: Ability to lift and carry heavy materials for extended periods.
Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination for precise placement of refractory materials.
Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and ensure proper installation techniques.
Teamwork: Work effectively with other laborers and skilled refractory workers.
