Job Title: Meat Butcher
Position Overview:
As a Meat Butcher, you'll play a crucial role in our team by ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our customers. You'll be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing various cuts of meat, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and providing excellent customer service
Key Responsibilities:
1. Meat Cutting and Preparation:
- Skillfully cut, debone, and portion different types of meat (beef, pork, poultry, etc.) according to customer orders and specifications.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of meat to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
2. Quality Control:
- Inspect meat for freshness, color, texture, and marbling.
- Monitor inventory levels and rotate stock to minimize waste.
- Follow food safety guidelines and sanitation practices.
3. Customer Service:
- Assist customers with meat selection, answering questions, and providing cooking recommendations.
- Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor while interacting with customers.
4. Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain meat processing equipment (saws, grinders, slicers, etc.).
- Regularly clean and sanitize workstations, tools, and surfaces.
5. Team Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meat products.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
## Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a butcher or in a meat processing environment is preferred.
WILLING TO TRAIN.
- Knife Skills: Proficient in using knives and other cutting tools.
- Physical Stamina: Able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy meat cuts, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Attention to Detail: Precise cutting and portioning skills.
- Customer-Focused: Friendly and approachable when assisting customers.
