Hiring Steel Fabrication Fitter, Steel Fabricator, Senior Steel Fabrication Fitters
Required
Related experience as a steel plate fabricator, or steel fabrication fitter, industrial steel fabrication specialist or experience in a steel fabrication shop in a related role
Knowledge of welding processes and equipment
Ability to work 2nd shift 3 PM to 11 PM, with opportunities for overtime pay.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Ability to work onsite in our client’s Birmingham, AL location.)
Duties
Proficient welding with one or more of the following: Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Stick Welding/Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), (MIG) Metal Inert Gas Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), or Wire welding. Responsible for fitting & welding jobs to meet specifications on T production drawings
Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures in the assembly process
Responsible for preparing jobs before they are transferred to the welding department (beveling, labeling, & bracing.)
