This position works in partnership with Field Finance, Field Management & Operations, and Central Finance to manage and maintain the financial and accounting records for Jones Stephens. If you have experience as an Accountant for a multi-faceted company, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your accounting career with an industry leading organization!This is a hybrid role, based out of our Moody, AL office and offers the flexibility to work from home once trained. As a hybrid role, this will require the incumbent to report to the Moody, AL office for training and maintain an in-office presence for meetings and collaboration, as needed. While the majority of work can be performed in a work from home setting once trained, the incumbent will need to reside in the Birmingham, AL area to perform the essential duties of this role.Responsibilities:Maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the financial and accounting records in accordance with Jones Stephens' accounting policies, SOX controls, and other internal controls, while keeping the focus on how the core accounting processes impact the “bottom line”

Knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, processes, and methods affecting the balance sheet and income statement of the business units

Review assigned consolidated BU monthly reports (P&L’s).

Prepare consolidated P&L account analysis and monitor for appropriate accounting, posting correcting and recurring journals as needed

Foster open and consistent communications with direct leadership to keep them informed of concerns and questions with reviews and/or Balance Sheet accounts

Meet monthly and year-end GL closing due dates

Review AP check batches for accuracy

Send Sales Report to local management daily

Month-end functions including balancing bank statements and sending all information including sending weekly sales reports and reconciliations to HQ

Participate in monthly conference calls with AR, AP, and local leadership

Assist finance leadership with internal and external audits

Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and 2+ years of Finance or Accounting experience, required

2+ Years of Accounting/Finance experience within the following areas:

- - Monthly General Ledger closing

- - Review of consolidated Income Statement including fluctuation commentaries.

- - Balance Sheet account analyses, including reconciliations and trend reviews.

- - Monthly and recurring journal entries

Demonstrate strong relationship building skills and excellent oral and written communication skills

Great teammate with a collaborative and flexible style

Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, etc, required

Prior experience working with and analyzing large amounts of data, required

Ability to identify and implement operational improvements
