Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to grow and develop their career in the field of mechanical engineering. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: · Design and improve production processes, equipment and facilities.· Perform failure analysis and troubleshoot existing equipment.· Design, construct, and commission new equipment.· Maintain engineering records and documentation.· Provide technical support to other departments within the facility.· Prepare drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software based on specifications from engineers and operations· Drawing and revising drawings to create 2D drawings that illustrate how components will fit together in 3D models· Collecting data about product dimensions, weights, materials used, manufacturing methods, and other details to ensure drawings are accurate· Using engineering software to create computer models of designs that can be manipulated to test various scenarios· Communicating with other team members to gather information about client needs and design requirements· Collaborating with fellow engineers and other design professionals to ensure that designs meet industry standards and codes· Communicating with clients to gather feedback on preliminary design concepts and make revisions as needed· Presenting design concepts to internal or external clients in written or visual form using computer software or manual drawing tools· Communicating with purchasing and operations on revisions for revision control purposes for software and inventoryQualifications:· Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.· Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software.· Experience with the manufacturing process.· Experience in a manufacturing facility is a plus.Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
