The Senior RNG Technician is an experienced field operator responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation and maintenance of the wellfield, GCCS, RNG plant, and pipeline systems.This role provides advanced troubleshooting, optimization leadership, and mentorship while ensuring full-site operational coverage and maximizing methane recovery.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperations and Optimization:Lead daily operations of RNG processing facilities, GCCS infrastructure, and pipeline systems.Lead routine and non-routine landfill gas monitoring and wellfield balancing strategies.Evaluate system performance trends and proactively adjust vacuum, liquids management, and header configurations to minimize oxygen intrusion.Oversee well dewatering programs and pump system performance.Coordinate infrastructure modifications required due to landfill development.Regularly perform work within active landfill fill areas.Evaluate landfill operational impacts on GCCS performance and recommend corrective actions.Coordinate access and protection of gas infrastructure during landfill activities.Maintenance and Troubleshooting:Perform and lead preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.Diagnose and correct faults in all site infrastructure; compressors, blowers, pumps, membranes, PSA units, analyzers, sensors, and related plant systems.Conduct advanced troubleshooting of control systems and instrumentation, including calibration of flow, pressure, temperature, and level sensors.Test and repair electrical circuits (up to 480V) using meters and diagnostic tools while maintaining compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.Support planning and execution of scheduled outages and maintenance activities, including defining parts, tools, and contractor requirements.Perform and lead preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.Diagnose and correct wellhead, lateral, header, and condensate system deficiencies.Lead HDPE pipe repairs, well tie-ins, valve replacements, and minor construction activities.Conduct advanced troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems.Safety and Compliance:Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, PHMSA, and site air permit requirements.Support environmental monitoring events and regulatory inspections.Implement and document LOTO and required safety permits.Maintain a clean and organized work environment consistent with company standards.Team Leadership and Collaboration:Mentor and train RNG Technicians in operations, troubleshooting, and safety practices.Serve as acting Lead Technician when the Lead Technician is unavailable.Collaborate with engineering and project teams during commissioning, performance testing, and process optimization initiatives.Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, environmental, and compliance personnel.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate operations and maintenance records.Prepare reports summarizing plant performance, downtime, and corrective actions.Support renewable energy credit documentation and environmental compliance reporting.Ensure accurate hazardous waste labeling, movement, and manifest documentation per regulatory requirements. This job opening will be located in Mt Vernon, Alabama.
