Transplant Financial Coordinator - Medicare

Job Family :Patient Account RepresentativeTravel Required :NoneClearance Required :NoneWhat You Will Do :The Transplant Financial Coordinator is responsible for verifying all Transplant Insurances for Global or Non-Global patients (All Payors) and be familiar with all Global contracts.

Work with all Organ Departments within UAB to include, but not limited to Kidney, Lung, Heart, Bone Marrow and Liver.

Responsible for relaying information between Patient Financial Services and the Transplant offices in a timely manner.

Will have extensive telephone usage on a daily basis to obtain approvals on transplants.

Compile medical records to send to all payors for insurance approvals.

Respond to all Impact requests in a timely manner (Impact is the only system that is used by the Transplant Coordinators)

Will compile the Global Notices and forward to the appropriate areas.

What You Will Need :

High School Diploma or equivalent required

1-3 years of years of experience working with transplant coordination

1-3 years of Insurance experience

What Would Be Nice to Have :

2 years of insurance experience with all payors

Excellent communication skills, written and oral.

Great computer skills

Ability to multitask.

Ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm.

Phone Etiquette

Ability to communicate any transplant issues or concerns in an effective manner with the Medicare Supervisor.
