SAIC is seeking a Cloud Architect to support a key technical role on a fast paced highly innovative Space Development Agency (SDA) project with the development of a cloud-based software factory for the BMC3 program. This position is primarily remote.
Primary responsibilities include:
Coordinate the architecting and d esign of secure AWS Cloud products and services within a Cloud-based environment to enable ecosystem partner development teams to deliver features in the most efficient way possible.
Lead the standardization and automation of development, build, and deployment processes and environments
Design Source Control Management/Documentation system with a fully automated CI build processes for multiple environments; write, build, and deploy scripts.
Develop and provide guidance for the setup, configuration, deployment of AWS infrastructure to support both production deployment targets AND development tools that build + test applications before live production (Infrastructure As Code)
Support best architecture practices such as supporting BMC3 partners in developing and deploying containers and microservices between each other and the network:
Encryption of data between apps and services and multiple levels of security
Introduce API gateways
Specify event store and streams
Integrate security scanners for CI/CD process and containers
Automate testing in the CI process
System and service configuration management
Support policies, standards, guidelines, and governance and related guidance for both CI/CD operations and for work of developers.
Work closely with software developers, production support, and information security to automate and support infrastructure and tooling in cloud-based platforms.
Provide guidance and apply agile and DevOps/DevSecOps practices to streamline product delivery and reliable operations of product.
Continuously identify opportunities to automate and save time.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelors and Eighteen (18) years or more of related experience: Masters and fourteen (16) years or more of related experience; PhD or JD and ten (10) years or more of related experience.

Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret clearance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates will have extensive experience in Agile development of infrastructure, complex system of systems design, development innovative solutions, Government integration projects, cloud computing and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms. This role will require expertise in software (SW) design, development, configuration management, architecture, and distributed (networked) compute platforms with space assets.
Requirements:
3 Years of experience writing infrastructure as code (aka writing code that performs setup of services to host, deploy, and connect applications in the cloud), and architect (how to best orchestrate applications together)
Experience with cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)
A background working with DevOps tool chains and processes
Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for cloud end-to-end architecture, across providers, networking, provisioning, and management
Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications
Working knowledge of Multi-Level Security (MLS) environments
Agile software development with Scrum or Kanban
Agile collaboration tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence
CI/CD with Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, or MS Azure DevOps
Desired experience:
