SAIC is currently seeking to hire a FPGA Engineer to be part of a team providing hardware and software development solutions to the US Army DevCom Software, Simulation, and Systems Integration Directorate (S3I) located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. The primary focus of this position is lifecycle maintenance of FPGA designs for tactical missile systems.

Job Responsibilities:
Support obsolescence mitigation of existing FPGA designs
Trace tests to requirements
Develop test designs
Write test benches in VHDL and/or Verilog HDL
Simulate HDL designs at unit, integration, and system level
Synthesis, place-and-route, and static timing analysis using Synopsis Synplify and other FPGA development tools
Develop scripts for process automation using a scripting language such as Python
Operate within a change control and configuration management environment
Analyze and characterize I/O of complex electronic assemblies
Implement minor updates, modifications and/or bug fixes
Debug and test
Integrate Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and custom designed electronic assemblies
Perform additional data system and analysis work as required
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelors with nine (9) years of experience in Electrical/Computer Engineering from an accredited university and nine or more years of relevant experience or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering from an accredited university and seven or more years of relevant experience. Four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of BS degree. Ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
Required skills:
Embedded electronic control systems for tactical military applications
Proficient in FPGA design and verification.
Proficient in C/C
Xilinx and other FPGAs
FPGA development tools, e.g. Vivado, Integrated Logic Analysis, Synplicity, Modelsim
Linux (bash, Perl, TCL, Python, etc.), and source/revision control tools (SVN, GIT, etc.)
VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog languages
Excellent testing and troubleshooting skills
Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other test equipment
Military / aerospace design techniques
Required Clearance:
Must have an interim Secret Clearance prior to the start of employment with the ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required.
