Network Engineer Manager to manage day-to-day operations of a NOC within the SAIC managed services organization located in Huntsville, AL.
Position Summary: This person will directly manage a geographically diverse team of varying expertise in monitoring, triage, and remediation as well as network engineering in a government environment. Working with the managed services NOC leadership team, the manager will work on continuous improvement of the services and team knowledge. This leader will maintain technical expertise areas of network and monitoring technologies to enhance capabilities of the NOC.
Responsibilities:
Directly manages individual contributors to the NOC
Provide management support for 24x7 team
Ensure staff is scheduled for proper coverage
Provides feedback and sets goals for the individuals and team to better serve the customer needs and requirements
Promotes growth and encourages teamwork within the NOC and with other teams
Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance
Administers customer processes that directly affect subordinate employees
Recommends changes to team structure or improvement of services
Attends meetings with program team and/or government customer as face of SAIC and the NOC services
Qualifications
Education / Experience:
Bachelors and 9 years or more experience; OR Masters and 7 years or more experience; OR High School diploma and 13 years or more of equivalent IT experience in a networking or network operations center leadership role (evaluated on a case-by-case basis);
5 years' or more experience in a customer facing environment
Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain the interim Secret Security clearance to begin working on the contract. Must be able to obtain the full Secret Security clearance. SAIC will assist with the process of obtaining the interim Secret clearance for the qualified candidate.
DOD 8570 IAT II or III certification required prior to start date. Must have any one of the following certification:
