The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of employees while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs that promote a safe working environment and minimize environmental impact. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation law, and EPA guidelines, along with excellent training development skills.Duties
Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Lead root cause analysis investigations for incidents and accidents to prevent future occurrences.
Provide training and development programs for employees on safety practices, emergency response procedures, and occupational health standards.
Collaborate with management to foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Maintain records of safety incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
Stay updated on changes in EHS regulations and best practices to ensure the organization remains compliant.
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding EHS matters.
Experience
Proven experience in environmental health and safety management or a related field.
Strong understanding of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, workers' compensation laws, and occupational health practices.
Experience in training development and delivery to enhance employee awareness of safety protocols.
Familiarity with CPR certification is preferred.
Ability to fabricate solutions for unique safety challenges within the workplace.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels regarding EHS initiatives.
