Description You will succeed in this Full Charge Bookkeeper position if you have a background in accounting and you're interested in taking on a challenging role with opportunity for advancement. This contract to full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper position offers a hybrid work schedule with a company located in Huntsville, Alabama.How you will make an impact
Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions
Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets
Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections
Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements
Filing documents to maintain historical records
Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing
Requirements
Previous experience with payroll preferred
General familiarity with month end closings
Experience working in Unanet software
Deep understanding of ADP - Payroll
Government contracting experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Comprehensive knowledge of Unanet
Expertise in Microsoft Excel
Experience with Governmental accounting
High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
Capable of working independently with minimal oversight
Highly organized and self-motivated
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
3+ years of bookkeeping experience
