Hood Technician

The Hood Technician is responsible for inspecting and lubricating cars in a quick, yet thorough manner for customers in a professional and efficient manner. This position will adhere to and promote the Company mission while operating within the confines of the Company’s core values and contributing to the success of their functional team.Primary Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Complete work accurately and quickly allowing customers to remain in their vehiclesPerform multi-point inspectionInspect vehicles for additional repairs neededAdvise service consultant/tech for additional workInspect fluid levels of power steering reservoir and transmissionInspect belts, hoses, and wiper bladesCheck air pressure of tiresMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

  • Who We Are

  • This is a limited tenure job in the State service. This is introductory, specialized work in a technical activity of state government. Employees in this class serve an apprenticeship under the supervision of senior employees in the State service. Assignments are in skilled and/or trades areas such as traffic signal repair work, equipment mechanic work, and communications repair work. Work is performed under the close supervision of an administrative and/or technical superior who assigns projects, gives preliminary instructions, and reviews work in process and upon completion for quality and adherence to established standards. No employment register is maintained. Vacancies are filled by direct appointment by various departments across the State.

  • Transportation Maintenance Technician I is a full-time position with the Department of Transportation. Positions are located throughout the state. Employees perform light to heavy equipment operation in connection with the maintenance and construction of highway facilities. Vacancies are filled by direct appointment. No examination is required. No employment register is maintained. Applicants meeting the qualifications below may apply directly to the Alabama Department of Transportation Region or District Office for which they wish to work. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT - Completion of eighth grade.
