Interoperability Test Engineer

DescriptionSAIC is seeking an Interoperability Test Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.The Systems Simulation, Software and Integration (S3I) Directorate is seeking a candidate in support of the Interoperability Team and Interoperability Engineering System (IES). This individual will support test and evaluation efforts for various Army platforms. Activities include providing interoperability subject matter expertise, analyzing platform documentation to provide direction to meet platform interoperability requirements, as well as providing support to assist systems in achieving communication link certifications including, but not limited to, Army Interoperability Certification (AIC) and Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) Certification. The candidate should be able to perform requirements analysis, author test plans and procedures, understand/analyze data link Military Standards, perform/oversee general lab integration activities, and direct Service Level Tests (SLTs).Duties and Responsibilities:

Interact with site personnel to coordinate test lab architecture and configurations

Operate accredited test software including Interoperability Engineering System (IES) and Network, System Integration and Test Environment (NSITE)

Author test plans and procedures

Author detailed test reports and technical white papers as required

Complete Software Problem Reports

Identify system engineering requirements from customer requirements documentation, goals and objectives

Maintain working knowledge of changes to data link Military Standards

Provide input to the Army Interoperability Technical Review Boards (AITRB) for Interface Change Proposals of data link Military Standards

Represent the S3I Interoperability team at meetings as required (e.g. TIMs, AITRB, TRRs, etc.)

Coordinate with the Army Network Design Facility (ANDF) for support

Other duties as required

QualificationsEducation Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience; Additional six (6) years' experience can be accepted in lieu of degree.

Clearance Requirements:

Must possess a Secret clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required.

Required Skills:

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Good interpersonal skills

Test execution experience

Understanding of tactical data link (TDL) protocols and message sets:

Military standards 3011 Joint Range Extension Application Protocol (JREAP)

Military standards 6011 Tactical Data Link (TDL) 11/11B Message Standard

Military standards 6016 Tactical Data Link (TDL) 16 Message Standard

Military standards 6018 Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) Common Message Format (CMF) Standard

Military standards -6020 Data Forwarding Between Tactical Data Links (TDL)

Understanding of tactical communications equipment: Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI), and Common Data Link Integration Module (CDLIM), Joint Range Extension (JRE) and tactical radios.

Desired Skills:

Data analysis

Network, System Integration and Test Environment (NSITE) user

Interoperability Engineering System (IES) user

Writing test plans, procedures and reports

System engineering requirements analysis

Travel:

This position may require that the individual be able to travel to support Continental United States (CONUS) activities. Duration and amount of travel may vary but may be up to 10% spread throughout the year.
