POSITION OVERVEW and PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the company's business goals and objectives. The Maintenance Technician works under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform highly diversified duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines as well as installing and maintain production CNC machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Participation in Mesker Safety Program.
Collaborate with leaders to develop creative cost-effective methods to improve safety.
Other duties as assigned by the Leadership Team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to handle/lift to 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand in place for extended amount of time.
Must be able to perform actions such as twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching.
Must be able to work with proper PPE safety equipment.
Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience
Familiar with machine shop operations and machinery. Also familiar with electrical/electronic troubleshooting equipment.
High School diploma/GED or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
Knowledge of variable frequency drive controls.
Basic math skills required.
Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.
Be/become certified on the forklift and other movable equipment.
Ability to work independently and cooperate with other members of the team.
Depending on experience could be required to shadow Maintenance workstations.
