Production Manager - 2nd Shift

Salary is dependent on skills and experience to be discussed in the interview.

POSITION OVERVEW and PURPOSE:

Plan, direct, and coordinate the processes of Production at the Huntsville site. Duties and responsibilities include daily management and oversight for all functions of production through manufacturing to final shipment to customers. Direct reports include production line supervisors and leads. The Production Manager position reports to the Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manage, direct and coordinate activities of Huntsville site for all functions from production through manufacturing to ensure successful final shipment to customers.

Prioritize and assign responsibilities to team members to achieve and overdrive targets; monitor workflow to ensure attainment of goals.

Review performance data to measure productivity, goal achievement and identify areas needing improvement.

Attend daily production meeting to collaborate with other departments to optimize efficiency with production and quality processes.

Evaluate and/or troubleshoot production equipment – report issues to Maintenance department and Operations manager as needed.

Support The Mesker Way, FUNdamentals, and lead by example.

Support HSV Leadership Team to ensure goal attainment and personal development.

Collaborate with Human Resources to effectively recruit, on-board, train, and retain top talent.

Administer assessments of employees to track progress and/or areas of improvement – report suggestions to operations manager.

Encourage positive behavior and team safety through adherence to and enforcement of safety guidelines, company policies and continuous improvement.

Maintain discipline and consistent practices across team; provide progressive discipline where appropriate; engage human resources as needed.

Provide a team-oriented environment where every team member can be seen, be heard and feel connected.

Leverage available resources to support individual team member’s goals; identify and support development plans.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

May be required to lift to 75 pounds repetitively.

May be required to push and/or pull carts up to 75 pounds.

Must use and be able to work with required PPE.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

The noise level of the warehouse is moderate to loud.

Uphold all safety standards applicable to the responsibilities above.

Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Previous hollow metal manufacturing experience preferred, though not required.

Depending on experience could be required to shadow fellow colleagues to gain understanding of essential functions.

Proven record of driving a team to meet production demands.

Must be able to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions and standard work tickets.

Basic math skills required - proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.

Must be able to work independently as well as in a group environment.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Must demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills, good organizational skills related to managing paperwork and time.
