The Boeing AvionX organization is seeking a Boeing AvionX - Senior Certification Process Analyst to join our team in to support AvionX product lines in a virtual capacity in one of the following locations: Plano, TX, Berkeley, MO, Hazelwood, MO, Long Beach, CA, Huntsville, AL or North Charleston, South Carolina.

This role regularly interfaces with management, chief engineer and design engineers to deliver high quality avionics solutions to various programs across the Boeing enterprise.

As a member on the Boeing AvionX Engineering Development Team, you will play a key role in defining, documenting and implementing certification activities. Teaming with the engineering development team on a daily basis you will develop and document certification activities for the entire project.
This role is ideal for those who enjoy working on a variety of systems and products. Our customers vary across both the military and commercial industry. Most of your time will be focused on a flight/safety critical products that will be implemented on various UAVs, eVTOL vehicles, fixed-wing vehicles, and rotor-craft vehicles, and weapons.

Some travel will be required (estimated 10%) to St. Louis and other primary sites supporting development efforts and business needs.

Successful candidates must have good communication, analytical, and organizational skills and be able to work in a team environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Researches, analyzes and compiles complex technical data for the development of the system and products certification process architecture
  • Consults with engineers performing certification activities to collect, analyze and document certification processes and activities
  • Develop and implement certification processes supporting Boeing AvionX vertical products over the design and development life-cycle
  • Leads or supports efforts to eliminate and/or consolidate process documentation.
  • Assists in applying process standards, guidelines, methods and tools
  • Identify or lead development of process assets (i.e. standards, methods, checklist, local work instructions, etc.) needed to support certification objectives
  • Communicate status to management, chief engineer, project leads, and design engineers
  • Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with certification projects and implementation activities
  • Work with commercial, military, and joint venture teams to align certification processes.
  • Performs technical planning and control; maintains and improves processes.
  • Oversees training, leads and mentors others
  • Works under minimal direction


This position allows some telecommuting; however onsite work will be required at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 10+ years of technical writing experience
  • 10+ years of aerospace certification experience


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Technical Writing Certificate
  • 10+ years of aerospace engineering analyst experience
  • 15+ years of Avionics hardware or software design & development experience
  • Experience with ARP-4754 Development Assurance objectives
  • Experience with ARP-4761 Safety objectives
  • Experience with DO-254 & DO-178 Design Assurance objectives
  • Experience with DO-297 Integrated Modular Avionics objectives
  • Experience developing Issue Papers
  • Experience working directly with regulatory authority offices
  • Experience qualifying engineering tools
  • Active security clearance
  • Critical/Adaptive Thinking


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).
