This position will be located within the Utility Assembly Department.Key Job Elements Mechanical assembly of chassis, drive train, engine, operator’s cab, etc.; Assemble, inspect, test run, and troubleshoot finished machines prior to shipment to end customer; Light fabrication and parts alterations may be performed during assembly of research and development (R&D) prototype machines; Additional duties as determined by the lead and/or supervisor.Education / Training High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.Qualifications and Experience 2+ years hands on mechanical experience; Ability to interpret engineering schematics; Mechanical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatics; Ability to work from engineering drawings, schematics, sketches, and verbal instructions; Ability to operate an overhead crane; Prefer candidates with previous experience working in a continuous improvement culture of Lean manufacturing and 5S; Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001; Prefer candidates with previous experience working in a manufacturing environment of Safety, Quality, On Time Delivery and Cost where everyone is valued and is encouraged to contribute to improve products, process and the business.BenefitsProgress Rail Services Corporation and its subsidiary and affiliate companies offer an excellent total compensation package including competitive salary, 401(k) plan with company match, available medical/dental/life/disability insurance coverage and paid vacation and holidays.
