DescriptionThe Service Worker / Janitor performs a variety of manual labor activities which may include stocking, janitorial, maintenance, groundskeeping, mail handling, delivery, messenger, moving and/or storage functions. Job responsibilities require the ability to perform work both independently and as a team. Additional requirements may include the ability to perform both indoor and outdoor work. This position is flexible with hours, but evenings will be required.Summary: This is a full-time, benefits eligible, classified staff appointment. The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $12.31/hour.Examples of Duties
Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, tile, fixtures, equipment windows, blinds, shades and floors. Dusts and polishes specified areas and/or furnishings.
Assists with the sorting, stocking and delivery of mail, messages, packages and supplies.
Cleans, lubricates, and adjusts equipment according to established procedures.
Provide support services for campus events, office relocations, meetings by moving, assembling and disassembling tables, chairs, office furniture and equipment.
Performs routine maintenance, including but not limited to, painting, light plumbing, wall repair, light bulb replacement, ceiling tile replacement, HVAC filter replacement.
May perform outdoor groundskeeping as needed.
Responds to service requests via Spiceworks.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have and maintain a valid drivers license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to lift 50 pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucks.
Routinely ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights, ceiling fans, etc.
Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across campus for various classroom and event needs.
Additional Information
Employment is subject to satisfactory results on background check.
Travel to both campuses and other locations may be required.
