Description SAIC is hiring a Cloud Computing Engineer to become a part of the SAIC Cloud One Operations and Sustainment Dev Sec Team focused on customer support and site reliability engineering. The selected candidate will be part of a team developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) for the architecture design/planning, management, support, and oversight of the Cloud One AWS, Azure, Oracle, and Google Cloud Platforms (GCP) common services offered for development, integration, test, and production. This position is remote, thereforework that may be performed from any location within the United States.
The Cloud Engineer will be supporting the Cloud One program under the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Office for Network Integration (AFLCMC/HNI). Cloud One is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized, hybrid, and IT infrastructure hosting mission systems, applications, services, and data serves the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and other Government Customers. Cloud One facilitates the Government's efforts to migrate applications to a cloud environment, allowing the closure of data centers to support the Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) and allowing for increased efficiencies across the entire spectrum of the USAF operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Design GCP environments and topologies
Provision and deploy workloads to GCP
Tools and Automation (Terraform, Ansible)
System administration, user creation, active directory
OS image creation through automation
Configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting of cloud assets and software systems
Proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling and process inefficiencies
Document design and project decisions
Process and support documentation
Update Knowledge base and Standard Operating Procedures
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience
Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
Minimum of two (2) years experience developing automation and Infrastructure as Code
Required Clearance:
Active Interim Secret clearance required; Ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required to maintain employment
US citizenship required
Required Skills:
AF C1 Dev engineering, operations and sustainment
Experience with DevSecOps tool chains to include:
Jenkins
Artifactory
Kubernetes design, deployment, operations, and sustainment
In-depth understanding of, and experience as a cloud engineer with one or more or AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, Domain Controllers, Active Directory, SSO, F5, Barracuda, Backup and Storage
Demonstrated experience with customer contact and collaboration, design, implementation, and participation in project planning
Experience preparing technical documentation including design, asset inventory, diagrams.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, or other modern software development methods/practices
Experience supporting USAF, cloud, or software development projects
Desired Skills:
Experience in an MSP or other IT company
Solutions Architect Professional certification
Security + certification
Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
