The hourly rate of pay is $37.26 for day workers and $38.09 for shift workersPosition Title :Maintenance Journeyman I-ElectricalPay Rate :$37.26Category/Shift :Hourly Full-TimePhysical Location :601 County Road 78Selma, AL 36703334-872-3481The Job You Will Perform:This is a journeyman-level electrician responsible for completing scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance and break-in electrical work along with performing many other duties both as part of a team and independently. Duties for electricians include, but are not limited to, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining 480v thru 13.8kv electrical systems, 480v and 2300v motor controls and associated control equipment including relay logic and PLC systems. This position includes a progressive comprehensive instrument-training program to develop into an IE Technician.Install, troubleshoot, and repair AC and DC drive systems as well as stand-alone process drives of various manufacturersResponsibilities:
Install, troubleshoot, maintain 480v and 2300v motors including induction, synchronous, wound rotor, permanent magnet and DC
Install, troubleshoot, maintain motor controls 480v and 2300v including electronic motor protection relays, sizing overloads and starter maintenance of various manufacturers
Install, troubleshoot, maintain various electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photo electric, speed and reflective switches
Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on 480v thru 13.8kv power distribution switchgear
Understand and follow NFPA70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards
Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on routine and extended annual outages
Maintain shops, load centers and work areas to a 5S standard
Assist Instrument Journeyman as needed
Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
Must be 18 years or older
Eligible for employment in the US
Must have a degree or certification in Electrical Studies; or at least 3 years of work experience in Electrical systems.
Willing and capable of working all shifts
Able to work in a team environment
Plus – must be willing to meet the following requirements:
Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment.
Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment.
Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification.
Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
Respond to emergencies during off hours and weekends
Wear required safety equipment/PPE
Continue to develop skills to become a multi-skill EI technician
Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection).
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in a maintenance discipline.
Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.
Strong math/physics understanding.
Prior experience as a multi-skill mechanic.
