We are looking for a full-time skilled Accounting Specialist to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. We are searching for a bright, positive and confident individual with a can-do problem-solving attitude to join one of the finest teams in Alaska!
As an esteemed member of our accounting department, the perfect candidate will possess attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills, and be able to work cohesively as a part of a dynamic, forward thinking organization.
If you have the ability to track multiple priorities with numerous interruptions while remaining calm, organized and accurate, we would love for you to be the next Rockstar in our band! However, character isn't everything and being financially savvy is ultimately key.
Ultimately, a successful Accounting Specialist will ensure that the company's accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Proven accounting experience; minimum of 2 years in accounting and customer service
Ability to function in accordance with GAAP, established standards, procedures and applicable laws
Competence in MS Office, databases, Adobe and accounting software
Accur4acy, attention to detail and ability to identify and troubleshoot accounting errors
Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with internal and external customers
Ability to work in a team and as an individual, and maintain respectful relationships with co-workers
Aptitude for numbers
Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
Data entry and word processing skills
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
High school diploma
Associate degree or relevant certification is a plus
Position works M-F 8-5 but can be flexible
