INTRODUCTION

Since 1993, Cornerstone General Contractors, Inc., has fostered a flexible approach to commercial construction based on cooperation, innovation, and accountability. A 100% Alaskan owned, managed, and staffed company, our team includes experienced personnel with the education, training, experience, relationships, and resource capacity to handle multiple projects of all sizes across the state. Presently, Cornerstone is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Project Manager.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Project Manager is the company's "management representative" and is responsible for the safe completion of his or her projects within budget, on schedule, and to the company's quality standards and the customer's satisfaction. The Project Manager is responsible for initiating required actions to achieve these objectives and to ensure that all project activities are consistent with contract documents and company policies, procedures, and systems. Among the Project Manager's top priorities is supporting the effectiveness of the Project Superintendent and associated project staff. Generally, the Project Manager will concentrate on long-term planning, scheduling, and the identification and resolution of possible "roadblocks" and "pitfalls" prior to having an impact on the project. The Project Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all logistical support is completed in a timely manner so that the Project Superintendent may concentrate on the daily and weekly direction of the company's resources and coordination of subcontractors. As a Project Manager, various other duties may be assigned to fulfill project needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful applicants will possess the desire to excel in the commercial Alaska construction industry through mentoring, cooperation, hard work, and a commitment to building excellence. Minimum requirements for this position include 15 years of related skill, knowledge, or experience; 5 successfully run projects in the role of Project Manager; or a Construction Management (or related technical major) degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional accreditations (PE, LEED, PMP, etc.) are a plus.
