Summary of Position:

The Food and Beverage Accounting Specialist at Hotel Captain Cook is a key member of our Food & Beverage team, responsible for overseeing the administrative and financial aspects of both food and beverage operations. The role requires extensive use of computerized systems for data entry, cost reporting, inventory management, and product setup. This position works closely with the general accounting team, specializing in internal food and beverage accounting, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency between departments.

Essential Functions:

Accounting and Reporting

Prepare and manage detailed reports on food and beverage costs, sales, and inventory.

Perform data entry with high accuracy for expenses, sales, and inventory.

Assist in month-end and year-end inventory processes, including physical counts and reconciliations.

Inventory and Product Management

Track inventory flow between outlets, ensuring accurate recording and management.

Set up and manage new items in the inventory system, ensuring they are tracked and available for sale.

Maintain precise inventory records and assist in managing stock levels.

Administrative and Operational Support

Handle payment and invoice inquiries related to the Food & Beverage department.

Undertake various administrative tasks, ensuring the efficient operation of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

4 year High School diploma or equivalent

Experience in a data entry or accounting role, preferably in a food and beverage setting.

Familiarity with restaurant operations, including knowledge of food, beer, wine, and liquor.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and comfortable using Windows computer systems.

Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

Skills/Abilities:

Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Adaptability to new processes and technologies.

Professional demeanor with integrity, honesty, and a cooperative attitude.

Availability to work a set schedule, with flexibility required at the end and beginning of each month for inventory purposes.
