Tribal Administrative Specialist

Tribal Administrative Specialist – The duties of the Tribal Administrative Support Specialist include reception, office management, clerical tasks, and back-office duties of the organization. The Specialist will interact closely with the public and Knik Tribe members to complete membership enrollments as well as maintenance of the tribal enrollment system. The Specialist will serve as a liaison between base members and council members to complete the enrollment process and will assist in Council elections.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet visitors, answer and direct phone calls, and provide customer service.

Provide general support to visitors.

Sort and distribute mail.

Provide support to tribal members during the enrollment process.

Assist in the process of incorporating the new Tribal Enrollment System.

Maintain member files.

Conduct audits on current member files for accuracy.

Assist with Council Elections.

Maintain contact lists.

Provide support to other departments in the administrative office as requested and approved by direct supervisor.

Ensure the privacy of individuals in compliance with Knik Tribe’s Confidentiality and Work Agreement.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work calmly in stressful situations.

Punctual, dependable, and dedicated to achieving operational goals.

Discreet, ethical, and committed to maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.

Moderately high computer proficiency, including standard office applications.

Moderate proficiency in web-based applications.

Ability to use all basic office equipment.

Maintain confidentiality.

Required Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Two (2) years’ experience working in a Tribal organization, preferred.

Evidence of direct experience to match the stated qualifications.

Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Clean state and federal background check.

General Information:

Location: 1744 N Prospect Drive, Palmer, AK 99645

Supervisor: Social Services Manager

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00pm

Salary: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour DOE/E. Plus full benefits: Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid leave and holidays, and retirement plan with matching contributions.
