The Lead Security Guard is a position within the security and protective service field of work. Lead Guards in this classification generally provide some limited supervision to Armed Security staff as they provide security services to the client. The Lead Security Guard will provide supervisions to Armed Security Guards working in Anchorage, Eagle River and Wasilla.

The Lead Security Guard is able to oversee the performance of a variety of fixed-post, mobile, or foot patrols while maintaining situational awareness and making decisions and/or taking actions consistent with established post orders, facility rules, guidelines and protocols. Duties may include work in austere and uncomfortable conditions for prolonged periods of time, including periods of inclement weather, while performing walking, standing, searching, and surveillance or sitting duties essential to the performance of the security functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

2. Must be 21 years of age or older.

3. Must be a citizen of the United States.

4. Must possess a valid drivers license.

5. Minimum of 2 years of security / police experience, or two years of military experience on active duty or in the National Guard or reserve military forces.

6. Must not have a record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession or manufacture during the previous 5 years.

7. Must not have any felony convictions or convictions that reflect on the individuals reliability including crimes classified under domestic violence. (Lautenberg Act)

8. Must be able read, write and speak English fluently.

9. Must be able to pass criminal background screen, drug test and physical exam.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

2. Prior experience with the M4 / Remington 870 and .40 caliber platforms is preferred.

3. Proficiency in basic computer skills is preferred
