JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial information that conforms to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the team in specified areas to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities and will also provide analysis of financial information to be used by management to make strategic business decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

•Responsible for the accounting team's performance of month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation.

•Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information and an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.

•Responsible for the day to day operations performed by the accounting team, primarily, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

•Understand all aspects of the payroll process and perform duties as needed or in the absence of payroll staff and responsible for weekly review of payrolls.

•Understand all aspects of the accounts payable process and assist the accounts payable team.

•Coordinate and implement training for Bilista companies in accounting software programs and credit card processing programs.

•Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy including building and maintaining power pivot reports.

•Supervise, assist and train accounting team in financial accounting and office management.

•Mentor new and existing employees by answering questions and assisting with projects.

•Assure effective communication is maintained within all areas of accounting.

•Responsible for the review of all taxation reporting with government or regulatory agencies and that there is compliance with federal and state laws (including, but not limited to tax).

•Responsible for assisting in the management of established systems, controls and operational data to ensure data integrity and accuracy, including any system implementation or upgrades.

•Initiate and assist in any implementation of improvements to the mapped accounting processes.

•Assist with the organizational security in accounting software and electronic data.

•Coordinate with other company departments and subsidiaries on accounting related information.

•Maintain current trends and practices in field of accounting.

•Support Controller and Assistant Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.

•Work with the Controller and Assistant Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.

•Assist with recruiting, training and evaluating accounting staff.

•Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

•Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will supervise multiple positions within the Brice Accounting Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Work-related experience and equivalent skills may be substituted.

•Five years' accounting experience in a progressively responsible position required.

•Multi-variable businesses experience preferred.

•Dexter + Chaney's Spectrum experience preferred.

•Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/Certified Public Accountant candidate (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.

•Ability to pass a drug, credit and background screening.
