Senior Tax Associates act as technical advisors in providing advice to others in resolving moderate to complex tax situations with opportunities to work directly with staff, seniors, partners, clients, other service providers and the taxing authorities. The ability to supervise multiple engagements at one time (including review of income tax returns and tax planning projections), conduct research of tax questions, and dedicate overtime during our busiest seasons, is required. Senior Tax Associate can participate in practice development by playing a leading role in marketing the firm and for a long-term relationship to include advancement to partner for the right fit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Prepare and Review tax return preparation and planning engagements.

Resolve routine to complex accounting and tax problems.

Develop, manage, and help train staff tax associates.

Communicate directly with taxing authority representatives.

Interact with clients via meetings, telephone, letters, and email.

Monitor budgets by maintaining control of time and charges.

Recommend billing to partner on engagement.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in public accounting, specifically with respect to income and transfer taxes and with a wide variety of experience in entity types and client industries.

Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant preferred but not required.

Master's Degree.

Proficient at tax research.

Familiar with Pertinent sections of the IRC and regulations.

Able to operate in a paperless workplace and strong computer skills.

Applicants should be proactive and client service oriented.

Effective communication skills and professionalism.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Thomson Reuters CS products (Ultra Tax CS, Planner CS, Fixed Assets CS).

Experience in areas including multi-state taxation, trust and estate tax planning and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and international taxation.
